What “text search” means: we match the words in your product data — name, description, tags and attributes — not the product images. So a search for “green t-shirt” returns items whose text actually says green t-shirt; we don’t look at the photos to detect color, pattern, or shape. What counts as an API call?
One search, index, or catalog request. Cached repeat searches within a short window don't count again. Your usage bar in the portal shows the running total for the month.
What image formats and sizes do you accept?
JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF, and BMP, up to 10 MB per image. We compress and normalize on ingest — you don't have to pre-process.
How accurate is the matching, really?
We run OpenAI's CLIP ViT-L/14 — a 768-dimensional vision-language encoder. Results are cosine-ranked, then re-scored with six signals: visual, product type, popularity, aspect ratio, color histogram, and category.
What happens when I hit my plan limits?
Requests are throttled to your plan's rate limit rather than cut off, and the portal shows how close you are. Upgrade any time and the new limits apply immediately.
Is my catalog isolated from other customers?
Yes. Each store gets its own database and its own vector collection — data is never mixed across tenants. Enterprise adds a signed DPA.
